Vilnius

Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is situated in the south-east of the country. With a population of over half a million people it is one of the largest cities in the Baltic States, second only to Riga, Latvia. Vilnius has a renowned history, once described by Napoleon as the “Jerusalem of the North” as he passed through in 1812. Vilnius is rapidly growing to be a modern European city.
